Stacy E. Yates
Stacy Yates focuses her practice on insurance litigation, physician and pharmacist professional liability, and healthcare compliance. She litigates a variety of matters, including liability, coverage and casualty issues. Her liability and coverage defense practice includes representation of national auto, homeowners, and commercial property insurance companies. Stacy also represents pharmacists, physicians, medical clinics and other healthcare professionals before regulatory bodies, including the Florida Department of Health, Florida Board of Medicine, Florida Board of Pharmacy, Florida Board of Psychology, Agency for Health Care Administration and Drug Enforcement Administration. Stacy has tried over 40 jury and non-jury trials and is admitted to practice in the Middle District of Florida and the Southern District of Florida.
Prior to joining Pennington, P.A., Stacy was appointed an Assistant State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County. As a prosecutor, she personally handled thousands of DUI and misdemeanor cases and hundreds of felony cases ranging from aggravated battery to armed robbery to career criminals.
Stacy graduated with honors from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and was the four-year team captain of the NCAA Women’s Soccer team. Stacy received her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law and was a member of the national mock trial teams.
Stacy is the Chair of the South Tampa YMCA Board of Directors, a member of Ye Loyal Krewe of Grace O’Malley, a member of the Krewe of Tronando, Tampa Bay Inn of Court, a Girl Scout Leader and is a frequent public speaker on a variety of topics including women in sports, college athletes as role models, and issues related to transitioning from a college athlete to an employee in the workforce.
