Practice Areas

Jacqui Newman has been handling workers’ compensation cases on behalf of employer/carriers in the state of Florida since 1995. Jacqui practices workers’ compensation law on both the trial and appellate levels for clients such as Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, one of the largest employers in Leon County, and the State of Florida’s Division of Risk Management. She is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar.  

Before joining Pennington, P.A., Jacqui was an associate with the firm of DuBois & Cruickshank, P.A., where she specialized in workers' compensation insurance defense and appellate cases for over seven years.  Her past legal practice includes representing numerous clients before the Judges of Compensation Claims in Tallahassee, Panama City and Pensacola. In addition, she has handled multiple workers' compensation appeals before the First District Court of Appeal. Jacqui has also been a speaker on workers’ compensation topics and has helped to provide continuing education courses for local employers and workers’ compensation adjusters.  

Jacqui is an honors graduate of The Florida State University College of Law. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995. Before graduation, Jacqui served as an intern for the Honorable Justice Harry Lee Anstead of the Florida Supreme Court. Jacqui also received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida in 1991.
