The Mooney Law Firm Merges with Pennington P.A. and Opens Miami Office

Pennington, pleased to announce a merger withf The Mooney Law Firm, consisting of attorneys Neil B. Mooney, Dr. Shanshan “Shannon” Liang and Edward Recio, to its existing practice.  For over forty years, Pennington has provided a diverse array of legal and governmental services to public and private clients in and beyond Florida.  The Mooney Law Firm now brings its own years of legal experience in international trade and transport to the Pennington team.  Its founder Neil B. Mooney operated a successful customs brokerage in Miami.  After selling his customs business Mooney became a lawyer and – building upon his practical experience in the field of international trade – developed a successful law firm with offices in Tallahassee and Miami.  For a number of years The Mooney Law Firm regularly represented clients in federal administrative matters before Customs and Border Protection, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Federal Maritime Commission, and Pennington is excited to expand its legal services into these arenas.  “We are certainly pleased to bring Neil Mooney and his group on board,” said Pennington shareholder Wiley Horton.  “Its practice and clients complement our existing business.”  Liang is an important part of the transition.  Liang holds a Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering, as well as a degree in law.  At Pennington, she will continue her legal practice in both international trade law and intellectual property law.  Recio, who opened Pennington’s new Miami office, has advanced degrees including law from Georgetown University, and worked for many years in the financial markets of Caracas, Venezuela. The merger provides Pennington clients a broad range of legal services and a tri-lingual staff (English, Spanish and Mandarin) as they transact business all over the globe.
