Pennington, P.A. Continues to Grow !

Pennington, P.A., is pleased to announce the expansion of its Tampa office with the addition of Partners Edward Carbone and Jacqueline R.A. Root. 

Ed Carbone's practice focuses on medical malpractice defense litigation, healthcare litigation, and healthcare risk management advice. He also has substantial experience in appellate litigation and insurance defense litigation. Ed has particular experience handling obstetrical injury claims, including disputes over the applicability of Florida's Neurological Injury Compensation Association (NICA), and claims relating to transplant services.

Jacqueline Root focuses her practice on the representation of hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers and facilities, defending against claims for medical malpractice at the trial and appellate levels. She also advises healthcare providers and facilities on how to proactively manage their risks to reduce the frequency and severity of claims, and provides counsel and training on HIPAA issues, adverse incident reporting, subpoenas, confidentiality, and privilege issues.    Ed and Jacqueline are members of Pennington’s Medical Malpractice Defense, Healthcare Law and Insurance Defense Practice Areas.

Pennington also announces its newest Shareholders - Matthew E.W. Bryant and Andre Sesler.    Matt and Andrew have been part of Pennington’s team for a number of years and have served our clients in a variety of practice areas.  Matt will continue to represent his health care clients, which include nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, hospice programs, and medical equipment wholesalers in matters relating to licensure, certificate of need, corporate compliance, and Medicare/Medicaid certification and reimbursement.  Matt also regularly represents clients in public procurement and bid protest proceedings.  Andre will continue to focus his practice on the defense of claims involving premises liability, automobile negligence, property damage, and a variety of insurance coverage issues.   

Pennington is also pleased to announce that team members Austin Cattani and Shanshan (Shannon) Liang were recently named Partners of the firm.    Austin focuses his practice in the areas of health care and employment law, while Shannon represents clients on various aspects of international trade and Customs transactional, regulatory and litigation matters.

Pennington also announces its newly elected Board of Directors and Officers for 2019: Murray Moore, President; William Horgan, Treasurer; Gerald (Jerry) Bryant, Secretary; President-Elect J. Breck Brannon and Board of Directors Brandice Dickson J. Wiley Horton, Adrienne Love, Christy Pardieck and Stacy E. Yates.
