Gambling and Pari-mutuel Law
The Pennington Firm has the largest gaming practice in the State of Florida. It represents clients on gaming issues before state and local government as well as in the Florida Legislature. Clients of the firm include some of the largest names in horse racing, slot machine gaming, casino cruise ships, arcade gaming and sweepstakes/game promotions. Members of the practice group are regularly asked to speak before state and national audiences on horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, and casino regulation.
Headed by Pennington shareholder Marc W. Dunbar, who also teaches Gambling and Pari-mutuel Law at Florida State University College of Law, the Gambling and Pari-mutuel Practice Group also engages regularly in administrative, civil and appellate litigation on behalf of its gambling clients. Recent successes by the firm can be found in published opinions involving some of the state's most complex gambling issues ranging from implementation of the state's Slot Machine Constitutional Amendment to the taxation of gambling cruise ships and the constitutional boundaries of the state's simulcast wagering laws.
